10月25日，駐澳大利亞使館蔡志烽公參兼總領(lǐng)事應(yīng)邀出席澳大利亞首都華人社團(tuán)聯(lián)合會(huì)、首都領(lǐng)地中國(guó)和平統(tǒng)一促進(jìn)會(huì)聯(lián)合舉辦的設(shè)立臺(tái)灣光復(fù)紀(jì)念日座談會(huì)。

　　蔡表示，80年前的今天，臺(tái)灣、澎湖列島重歸中國(guó)主權(quán)管轄。臺(tái)灣光復(fù)是中國(guó)人民抗戰(zhàn)勝利的重要成果，是中國(guó)政府恢復(fù)對(duì)臺(tái)灣行使主權(quán)的重要鐵證，是臺(tái)灣作為中國(guó)一部分的歷史事實(shí)和法理鏈條的重要一環(huán)，是兩岸同胞的共同榮光和全體中華兒女共同的民族記憶。希望在澳僑胞以臺(tái)灣光復(fù)紀(jì)念日設(shè)立為契機(jī)，一如既往堅(jiān)決反對(duì)“臺(tái)獨(dú)”分裂，為維護(hù)臺(tái)海和平穩(wěn)定、推進(jìn)祖國(guó)統(tǒng)一再立新功。

　　與會(huì)堪培拉華社代表紛紛表示，設(shè)立臺(tái)灣光復(fù)紀(jì)念日意義非凡，將堅(jiān)定維護(hù)一個(gè)中國(guó)原則，為促進(jìn)祖國(guó)統(tǒng)一大業(yè)貢獻(xiàn)力量。

Minister-Counselor & Consul General Cai Zhifeng of the Embassy of China in Australia Attends Symposium of Canberra’s Chinese Community Commemorating the Establishment of the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration

　　On October 25, Minister-Counselor & Consul General Cai Zhifeng of the Embassy of China in Australia was invited to attend a symposium hosted by the Federation of the Chinese Associations of the Australian Capital Territory and the Australian Capital Territory council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China, which marked the establishment of the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration.

　　In his remarks, Mr. Cai said that this day eighty years ago, Taiwan and the Penghu Islands were restored to China's sovereignty and jurisdiction. The restoration of Taiwan is an important outcome of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. It stands as a compelling proof of the Chinese government's resumption of the exercise of sovereignty over Taiwan. It is also an important part of the historical fact and legal chain that Taiwan is an integral part of China, and a national memory shared by all Chinese. I hope that the Chinese communities in Australia will take the establishment of Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration as an opportunity to resolutely oppose separatist activities aimed at seeking "Taiwan independence" and to make new contributions to maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and promoting national reunification.

　　Participants from the Canberra Chinese community expressed that the establishment of the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration holds great significance. They expressed their firm commitment to upholding the One China principle and to contributing to the great cause of the reunification of the motherland.
